First eBay neutral (no negatives) in 6145 days

Buyer never contacted me with any problem. It was a $5 card advertised in G condition. Left me my first neutral after 6145 days on eBay. Feedback comment is blank.

What a coincidence - I actually received my first neutral this month after 5634 days on Ebay (3746 positives). Buyer never did contact me either, but he did say there was a scratch on the PSA case of the card I sent. So, I guess I missed it as I usually note scratched cases in my auctions. Oh well

My take on this has always been that the biggest issue with Ebay feedback is the idea that any business runs 100% satisfaction rates. Ebay feedback is a joke - a seller sends the wrong card, I have to repack, drive to the PO and ship it back. And this is somehow a good buying experience just because the seller offers a refund?

Who thanks the Chef for sending out the wrong food?

Who says that is a "good buying experience"?

You are still allowed to leave a neutral or negative, aren't you?

I see things like that a lot on sellers feedback. Sometimes I see people leave neutral feedback and leave a comment like "thank you" or "as described".
As a potential buyer, I wouldn't even think twice about it if the guy didn't leave any kind of negative comment. So I doubt it'll hurt you very much especially with your numbers lol.
  • You might try to write the buyer a message. I did this before when I received a negative from a repeat buyer, so I thought it might have been a mistake from his part. After I sent the message, the buyer agreed to a feedback revision and changed the feedback to a positive. My message went something like this: "Hi John, I saw that you left me a negative feedback rating. We are a very small operation, and are always looking for ways to ensure that our customers are completely satisfied. If you could let me know how we could have improved your situation, please let me know so that we will have better service in the future. If the feedback that you left was a mistake, please let me know, as I would be very grateful if you would be willing to revise the feedback. Thank you very much for your business."
  • Don't sweat it. What buyer will pass on your items if they see all positive feedback and one neutral? It's really not a big deal.

I am, but I don't, because I understand that sellers make mistakes and that the Ebay feedback system is broken. If the feedback system was working you wouldn't see all these "OMG, got a neg or stars dinged" type of posts because mistakes, negs and neutrals are just part of running a business. We would be able to accept that a seller has 25 neg or netural experiences for every 1K cards they sell.

But since we don't neg for transactions that were in fact not positive (super slow shipping, cards packed improperly, wrong card sent, cards over graded), when we do neg it seems like such a big deal, so much so that sellers block bidders that leave a negative feedback.

Getting a neutral is akin to being sorta pregnant, get the neg and then
you'll have busted a cherry. image
    Good for you.

Shouldn't your verbage/results be swapped? Feel sorry for the girl if she get's pregnant, then her cherry pops! Well, I guess I feel sorrier for mr 2 inches.

Whoa. Any seller whose buyers have a negative or neutral experience 2.5% of the time needs to shut it down and find another hobby.
