Alternative to Brinks for Private Collectors?

Hi folks,

As far as I understand, Brinks will only pick up and deliver to businesses, banks or physical storefronts. Is there any comparable service that will pick up, transport and deliver high value collections in a similar way for private collectors? Or would one simply need to "Registered Mail" multiple packages to themselves to transport a high value collection across country. Any advice would be appreciated.

I ship coins home from the ANA and the FUN show from the USPS booth on the bourse floor. I only use registered mail.

I know for a fact that Brinks has picked up from a residence, but it was at the request of one of the large auction houses on a $1.5MM collection.

You might want to carry it yourself if you have insurance, which is fairly easy to obtain.

take it to you local dealer that you do business with and then brinks can pick it up at the store.

That's one benifit you get by doing business with your local B&M store.

One alternative to Brink's is Positive Protection Inc. (PPI). They will pick and deliver to many, many locations, and this might be more convenient to a private collector than using Brink's.

Brinks will pick up at your local bank and deliver to a bank of your choosing. It's not difficult to coordinate.

They pick up and deliver in plain clothes (i.e. guys in suits with no necks carrying concealed weapons). They are familiar with the coin biz too, which is important (i.e. the ebb and flow of coins shows, etc.).

Better for a pickup ...taking coins to a B&M and walking out empty handed leaves open for crooks thinking you sold something of value, and now have cash on your person
Using caution reminds me of a bank employee asking why safe deposit box was so heavy
