SBA's just back from grading......

I just got the grading results from some of the SBA's I submitted , and ended up making 1-1979 wide rim in MS65, 1-1979S in MS66, 1-1981 P in MS66 , 1-1981 D In MS66 and 1-1981D in MS67 , so am really happy with these. I still have several 1999's that didn't post yet , so am keeping my fingers crossed. The 67 will help my set , and the others will help my son and daughters sets. image

Great job on that 81-D MS67, been a long time since I've seen one of those raw. image

  • Good job on making the MS-67 81-D SBA $1. Although this is the most available of the 1981 issues, the 81-D is NOT EASY to find in
MS-67. I use "most available" in a relative sense. I think the market
penalizes this coin since 'D' mint SBA's come nicer than 'P' or 'S' mint
SBA $1's. The 81-D is worthwhile in MS-67 and, as more collectors
enter the SBA arena, the price will increase.

Good luck on your SBA $1 set. George.

Most excellent! The condition of a lot of those early SBA can just make you cringe. Finding another gem like yours could will be hard to do. So far my most recent subs have been slammed by PCGS. I think they are getting a bit tuffer on the grading perhaps. It may be because of the growing interest in the series. You and the Doc are a hard act to follow!imageimage
