1975 Topps Baseball Rack Pack Rip

Ok I've had it up to here with 1980 Topps. Time to rip something different and this board needs ripping.

In my inexpert eyes, this rack is legit.

Ripping will commence.

Good luck! Rack packs are a good source for '75's as the cellos are wrapped so tightly you cant get good cards.

I remember watching that rack on ebay last week. Strong price considering condition. Hope cards are sharp and minty fresh!

Sharp Luzinski! Judging by two cards you scanned, you must have started from the far left section (with Montgomery on top)...good luck!

Double post alert. A little glitchy today. Moving towards the header Tim. Between dips into the pool. Beautiful day in Miami!

You're still in middle section now...if centering holds to header section, you have a great shot at a mint Brett or Yount..

  • Do you really have the patience to open at this pace? If this was my pack, I'd open all 3 to see if I had any Younts or Bretts or big stars. No way I could go card by card, wait an hour, then do a few more. Hope you pull something huge.

Nice Aaron RB. I hope there is lint on the scanner though. Otherwise, the PD in the background will keep it from a 9. Nice pack!

Ok I lied. Not gonna show the second-to-last card as it was not worth the effort to take a pic.

    So here's the last card....Spaceman!

And that's all she wrote, in the words of the immortal Gordon Solie.

Damn you guys had me thinking there was a Brett or Yount in the mix! But overall pretty pleased with rack. Some nice cards!

Terrific centering on these~I see a number of potential Mint 9s and maybe even a 10? PSA is notoriously tough on 75s, but you have some beauties here!

Just saw a 75 rack with Carew on top sold for $395 last night~hope you didn't buy it, Chris, as it is a fake.

ETA: Even more egregious fakes listed today with computer generated white header cards with 24-card counts, which Topps never produced.

Saw those 75 packs with the white headers on them. Never seen one before, and outside of the white(not red) header what else gives it away as a fake or is that it?

Topps never produced 24-card rack packs in 1975~these are fabrications from another seller on ebay who sold a bunch of them a while back. They are completely homemade. Topps never used a white header card for any year, either.

Thank you for confirming grote. Really sick that people would do this and rip people off. Needs to be a function available where people can contact Ebay about fraudulent items being sold on Ebay and pulled.
  • heritageheritage Posts: 2,662 ✭✭✭
Well it was fun to follow along, looks like you came up with some well centered cards and the Aaron looks very nice.
  • Some fantastic centering on those cards. What spot was the aaron in? The Yount usually follows 4 or five cards later…
