I can't stand seeing things like this. I'm not a fan of anything modern. I think it's really gotten out of hand as far as all the relic, "event worn", parallels and rainbows that card companies keep pumping out. But people love it I guess.
Their motto should be something like, "destroying sports memorabilia one bat at a time."
Forgot to mention all the autos as well. I'm still amazed that autographs are even worth anything these days with as many that come out.
To play devils advocate, all these items are bought at auction and any of you worried about these items being destroyed can of course purchase them. It's not like these bats are coming out of museum collections and if Topps doesn't buy the bat it ends up in some guys man cave. Cards like this are how a number folks (not me) connect with GU mem and to each their own. Lots of Hank bats to go around I imagine.
I think its pretty cool. As long as some historical bats are preserved in Cooperstown, I don't mind pieces of bats being share around the hobby. Better that, IMO, than in some advanced collector's humidor never to see the light of day again.
Kiss me once, shame on you. Kiss me twice.....let's party.

Not sure why anyone would be against authentic, verifiable autos being plentiful. I'm damn skippy I get to own a couple Pete Rose cards and got them for $10 a piece(one is even on card).
I was able to get my step daughter auti cards of most of the main players on her favorite team...the DoDgers...sans Puig and Ryu...for only a few dollars a piece. And a kershaw I already had.

I'm not really against it to the point where I'm plotting to take revenge or anything lol. I think an item is much higher on the "cool" meter when it has a bit of rarity to it. Not necessarily a higher dollar value but (imo) that is an extra benefit. For example, you mentioned your Pete Rose autos at $10 a piece which seems very in-expensive and I'm not an autograph expert at all, but there was probably a time when a Pete Rose auto went for a lot more than $10. Even just looking on ebay I see more pete rose autographs than I wanted to count. In any event, I don't plan on collecting any of this stuff and I really don't care what people choose to collect. These are only my opinions.
And I would MUCH rather see a Hank Aaron used bat showcased in a museum or mancave then chopped up and glued to cards.

They must just sit around thinking "What else can we destroy today."
Very sad!
Currently collecting 1934 Butterfinger, 1969 Nabisco, 1991 Topps Desert Shield (in PSA 9 or 10), and 1990 Donruss Learning Series (in PSA 10).
