What was I suppose to do about the gum?

First off sorry. I can't find the original post about what to do with a pack that has gum in it, before subbing.
I remember letting the sun bake it and that was it.
Thanks for the help!

I thought that PSA had new holders for the packs and were going to start grading them like they used to? (ie Gum did not have to be stuck to the card.)

Please do not damage the pack (and cards within) by baking it!! LOL!!

They stopped grading packs with loose gum a while back. I had heard that a new holder was being developed for wax packs, but I'm seeing wax packs graded once again, some with loose gum, and holder looks same as before, so I'm not sure what happened.

So I want to send these and have graded. A couple have loose gum sliding around and I don't want to chance it poking hole in the pack. Is the sun my only option?
    Thanks

The freshest, nicest packs always have loose gum. The idea of worsening the pack's condition to help it grade is very disturbing.

Originally I had totally agreed with that, when it was mentioned.
I have since decided the packs I wanted graded because of the player on the front, would never be opened. So not a big deal, if it prevents holes in the wrapper.

If you're keeping the packs anyway, why bother ruining them and grading them? If you keep them raw the gum isn't a problem.

Agree with PaulMaul. And though you may not be opening them at this time, what happens if you decide to sell them at some point down the road?
