OT - For the Guitar Fans on Here...

Not a fan of Goldin auctions but he's auctioning a 1959 Gibson Standard Sunburst Replica that Jimmy Page used in 1999 on the tour with the Black Crowes. I wonder what authentic 1959 Les Pauls are going for these days? He bought his main '59 Paul from Joe Walsh in 1969 for $600!

Looks like somewhere between a lot and even more.

And those are Custom's, not the more popular Standard. I think an authentic '59 sunburst Les Paul Standard in excellent condition would probably go for $300k-$500k. There are enough rich rock musicians out there that want one and would be able to drive the price up to those levels.

Just finished reading Joe Perry's (Guitar player for Aerosmith if you didn't know) autobiography, he has one, and says he thinks it's the best sounding guitar EVER.

He had one years ago and had to sell it, eventually Slash ended up with it. Joe asked to buy it, and eventually Slash GAVE it to him. NICE!

I remember seeing one in Guitar Center, San Jose in the early 90s for about $50k. Wish I had had the cash to buy it.
