Just recently found out that Sy Berger passed away

I was messing around on the topps website last night and somehow ended up on Wikipedia reading about Sy Berger. Mr. Berger passed away on December 14, at the age of 91

I'm sure many of you know who he was but for the ones that don't...he was the co-designer of the 1952 topps baseball set.

Can you imagine the life he led? Creating the most known and possibly most sought after (post war) baseball set. On top of that, having all that extra inventory and dumping it in the ocean, and then 30, 40, 50 years later seeing how popular those cards were lol.

I'm surprised nobody posted about it.

    Well look at that...

It's funny because I actually typed Sy berger into the search engine here and that thread never showed up.

My bad. Actually, collectors universe' bad!

Thanks for the update, nice icon by the way. Next year is raiders year.
