Odd Football card set question - 1989

Any idea what this set is? Based on the card numbers, it does not appear to be the 88-card American/UK mini set. This is a 33-card boxed set. The box is the size of a standard size card.

Pretty sure that's the 1989 UK Set... Different from the '87 Set.

Scott, I think you are right on the money. The flags on the cover reminded me of the 1987 design so I was thinking it was 1987.

    Thank you for the clarification.

    Thanks,

Yep, 89 Topps UK. Neat little set.

It is indeed the full sized 1989 Topps American/UK football set.

Oddly, it uses the same graphics as the 1987 Topps American/UK football set.

The 1987 offering uses a mini version of the 1987 Topps design, albeit with different photos and elements on the card backs.

That release was a larger set and made available in packs, rather than set form.

The 1989 set has a smaller checklist, is "standard" size, copies the 1989 Topps design, and was only available in the box set format you pictured.

I am currently waiting delivery on a 1987 Topps American/UK pack with Walter Payton showing on the front to add to my Payton unopened collection.
