With Mike Ellis resigning from the board, Tom Mulvaney moves in to that seat.

We all wish Mike the best as he puts the finishing touches on the new Cherrypicker's Guide and with his new position at QA.

I don't know about y'all but I never seem to get an answer back when I ask Mike Ellis a question. Simple questions but just no response. I subscribe to CONECA also. Anybody else get this response?
  • Congrats, Tom! Didn't he work with Jeff Garrett of Mid-America?

    What is QA ?
I manage money. I earn money. I save money .
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

Certainly. I bought an 1831 QE Proof called MS for about 34K in a MidAmerica sale in 84/85 and sold it to Mike Brownlee of Goliad Corp for 41K at the next TNA show. It's on the Bass Wall and described as PR66DCAM by someone who's seen it raw and is real good at telling the difference. I'd love a copy of Tom's photo Without checking, I'd bet he's known more than a dozen members of PCGS's Board of Experts. And 20% of the PNG membership. From the mid-70's on, he was the photographer for all of Paramount sessions of the Apostrophe Auctions, and earlier. And the entire Pittman Collection, all with Dave Akers. He's been lugging his cameras to Colorado Springs for quite a while.

My recollection is that he came in 8th in the last election, edged out by Laurie by 11 1/2 votes.

Mike Ellis has been an ANA Governor since Teddy Roosevelt left for greater things, and has been teaching, among others, US Coin Grading. As recently as this past Wednesday, he, his and my co-instructor and ANA Educator/DreamCrusher Rod Gillis, along with some old man whose name neither of us can remember, were at work, using actual in-hand coins, at performing the almost insuperable task of analyzing lustre with students at an ANA Grading Class. While he would never mention it himself except when his friends asked, anyone who's watched him hobble around behind a walker at Summer Seminar knows his commitment. His friends rejoice at the effects of his recent operations

Winky, I'm feeling downright sad that you didn't get your question answered. Based on much of which you have informed us, it's clear the System is rotting from within. . . . image

A fun forced resignation behind a closed door meeting. I hope the ANA works on transparency.

It's "QA Coins." A new organization that is like CAC for slabbed moderns.

    See the QA team.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
