New PSA Set Registry® Feature

I'm on the my sets page and I don't see any Shop Button. Edited - found it top right of page. I checked one set and the results made no sense. Every single card I clicked on that said it had found results brought up a different card from the same set and I know for sure it was not finding all the ebay listings of that (wrong) card.

I just checked it out and it is pretty sweet. Worked great for me. I especially liked the zoom in on the cards you want to look at.

I checked for the 1985 O Pee Chee WWF set and it was a mess. It also didn't find any listing that used "OPC" instead of "O Pee Chee". That is understandable I guess but when I clicked on cards it brought up different cards from same set and cards from the 1987 O Pee Chee WWF set.

I checked the '63 topps baseball and I will go through my set this weekend. Way faster than old way. Thumbs up for the basic sets anyway!

Looks like a great way to do a cost comparison for your cards as well.

    Thanks,

Did some checking on the 1977 Topps Baseball set and found some football cards showing up there as well.

Still potentially valuable tool. Love the grade filtering ability.

The idea is awesome. I got a few strange results and provided feedback, hopefully they'll be able to work out some of these.

It doesn't differentiate the autographed sets from unsigned cards which makes it pretty useless to auto'd set collectors.

Great tool, but it may need some refining down the road.

I just went to my '70s cello pack set to see how it would
handle the really tough packs. I saw that next to the
1971 cello packs it had "Shop (6)". Even before I clicked
on it, I knew that was improbable, but I clicked on it and
it said, "There are no items matching your search criteria".

So, I went to another tough pack, the 1974. There was
a "Shop (1)" beside that one, so I clicked on it and it
took me to a 1975 cello pack.

Still, a great feature, but it may need some tweaking.

I had this happen also. What I discovered is that results which are not an exact match get counted in that total as well. You can see the results if you un-check the "Exact Match" box. These results will not be the card you are looking for.

Ah, dytch2220, I see we are looking in two different places.

What I was doing, is clicking on "My Set Registry", then "My Sets",
and when I open up one of my sets, on that page, next to the card,
on the left hand side there is "Shop (?), where the question mark
is the number of "hits" that the generator has found.

There is no "Exact Match" check box, doing it that way.

If you click on "My Set Registry" and then click on "Shop" along
the same string of links, it will take you to a page where all of
your sets are listed, and beside each one is the number of "hits"
for that set. Then, if you click on the set there, it will take you
to a page with the "Exact Match" box, and a list of all the cards
    you can shop for.

Either way though, the default setting is "Exact Match", so what
I said about searching in my previous post still holds true. It
would only get worse if you unchecked the "Exact Match" box.

This is a great feature. The set I collect is big and varied, hundreds of issues represented so I'm used to CnP from my set into Ebay to see what's up. This makes it much easier to just scan my set and fill a hole which I did yesterday.

PSA is a innovative user friendly company. When they introduce a new feature they do get much criticism for the bugs that need ironed out. They generally do improve these features. Compare the PSA Set Registry with any other companys registries. There is no comparison.

Let me just repeat that I think it is a great new service
    that PSA is offering.

And while sure, it will have a few bugs, not necessarily
on PSA's end, but because the search generator will
pick up on errors in listings, especially from eBay, where
anyone can list things with any sort of description, correct
    or not.

It may be that PSA can keep tweaking the program to
make the searches even better, or not. Either way,
I think it's a great addition to the registry, and I agree
with Brick that PSA has the best registry out there.

Just looked at a few other sets of mine and any O-Pee-Chee sets seem to be the biggest problem. I understand the shop option not bringing up "OPC" but it doesn't seem to find O Pee Chee as opposed to O-Pee-Chee either.

I thought the 1985 Topps WWF set would do better but it came up with 103 matches - 63 of which brought up the wrong card. Mistakes varied from ungraded examples of the correct card, to wrong brand (O Pee Chee instead of Topps) to correct wrestler but wrong card from the correct set to cards from completely different sets.
