"traded" for Roberto Clemente autograph, this is what it took.

Since my collection budget is currently a zero sum game, it probably wasn't the best time, but I finally decided it was time to acquire the Roberto Clemente autograph I had wanted for years. Overpaid a bit, but I wanted clean cut I could use for a custom, and it had to be PSA/DNA instead of the other options. I found one i liked and waiting patiently for a 4x eBay Bucks promotion. Once that arrive, i sent my offer and it was accepted! This is what I got;
And this is everything I sold off to pay for it.
and 18 of my 19 Troy Polamalu rookies. I kept the on card auto'd rookie.

Looking to have some custom cuts or plain custom cards built? PM me.

Wow, that's a ton to give up for one auto, but that's one of the nicest Clemente autos I've seen. Congrats and enjoy!
This is going to be sooo off-topic, but I'm going to say it anyway...
Richard Harris, whose picture and autograph was one of the ones you
traded away, was the definitive Albus Dumbledore. Unfortunately
Harris died before the third movie in the series was completed.
Peter O'Toole was considered for the part, and Ian McKellen (Gandalf)
was offered the role, but turned it down. Either of these two would
have been a better choice than Michael Gambon, who ended up getting
the part for the remainder of the films.

John,
I love the Potter movies and Richard Harris, but I have to say, I don't think the later films would have been nearly as good with him in that role. Maybe he played 1 and 2 this way on purpose, but I found Harris' dumbledore movements to be old and feeble looking. I don't feel his Dumbledore would have had the energy and strength to make the Voldemort fights look credible. I did sell off the two Harris's above but, I did replace the custom pictured above (which was 5x7) with this 3.5x5 version, which is more consistent with the rest of my HP customs.

<< <i>I can appreciate collecting on a tight budget, where you get to the point that you have to make some very tough choices. Think of it as trading quantity for quality. Nice pickup and thanks for posting so many scans. You had some really nice items there, a good mix. >>
I agree. Thats kinda been my gameplan for the last year or two. Sold off most of my BGS Steelers RC collections (Polamalu, Bettis, Ward, etc), sold off my low end Star Wars stuff (ics and cheaper pics) and been buying quality stuff instead.

<< <i>I think the Buzz Lightyear signature looks suspect. He definitely does his "B"'s differently. >>
Lol. It's funny because he's a cartoon character.
