Is this Canada Dollar Proof-like ? More pics added

It also has raised rims
You can see the raised rim, plus not quite as milky as photo looks

Most of these coins have a P-L look to them. It was the way they were made.

I'd say so. It has raised, square rims and the reeding is cut deep and straight on the edges.

Do not believe that the 1949 series was issued as proof.
    PL and SP yes.

    No PL issues for 1949.

    Just MS and SP.

Looks like it's just a nice looking MS coin.

To quote Charlton: "The 1949 dollars were struck more carefully than those of previous years and were issued in plastic or cardboard tubes of 20 to protect them. Many of these coins remain in proof-like condition today."

I did have a PCGS graded 1949 dollar, that was graded PL-65. I suspect it was a superb business strike however...

Not to derail the thread, but YQQ... I like your avatar!! Are you collector of mint state NFLD 1-cent strikes??

sorry about the side track guys
    SPP,
thank you, I do have a few of them NFL pieces in acceptable grades.
the other side is a slight bit weak strike in wood grain.
this coin also is the re-engr 41 type.
If you would like to see the other side, and perhaps another couple of NFL pieces, you might want to open a new topic.
I believe other members would like to see some "dark side " stuff.
