Crossovers?????

Sent 13 coins (toned Morgans) to PCGS last Monday. 6 Anacs and 7 ICG. Very nice stuff, any thoughts on how many cross? I will let you know the results when I get them back

Let's see: 13 x .30 = 3.9, so 4 will cross. On a good day.

I recently sent in 4 coins to cross, 1 NGC and 3 ANACS, the NGC was dinged from a 61 to a 58 and the ANACS (problem-free) DNC'd due to harsh cleaning.

My guess is none of the ICG and 2 ANACS. Good luck.

If the coins are *really* nice for the grade then 3 of the ANACS will cross and none of the ICG.

Morgans? I have no idea. My most attractive Morgan is in an ANACS holder, but it wouldn't cross because it is proof like, not deep mirror proof like.

"Cross-at-any-grade" should bring success, most of the time. If you are looking for straight cross on these then Greg's right, the ANACS have a clear shot, the ICG don't.

Then don't send in ICG coins. If you're looking for MS63/MS64 from your MS65/MS66 ICG coins, then you have a chance. If you're looking for them to cross at the same grade, it won't likely happen. Even if PCGS didn't have a political agenda, ICG grades using grading standards that are closer to Accugrade than PCGS.

Based on my recent attempts, I guess one ANACS will cross.

I used to get close to 50% cross rate on carefully selected coins. Now I'm overjoyed to get one successful cross out of each submission. There has to be a big price difference between the two holders for the few successful ones to pay for all the DNCs.

One. It seems like PCGS doesn't really want to cross pieces from other services at the same grade. Might give you one as a bone.
