My HA session 3 winnings

This is an extraordinarily attractive coin. I know it's only a 63, but the eye appeal is tremendous. I'm a big fan of the orange-peel look on gold coins because it suggests originality on MS specimens. While I don't generally do gold, I do collect Italian States pieces so this is within spec.

This 1/2 Piastra is not a nice coin for 65; rather, I think it would make a nice 63+, which would make it worth around $2000 (to me, anyway). I paid for the coin, not the holder.

This is a very attractive coin in a non-EVP grade, but did I say it's very attractive? Plus, Sardinia coins are scarce. This has killer eye appeal and the look of an AU62+ specimen.

Some other coins I tracked but passed on: the Papal States Testone in 67 is much less attractive than my PCGS 66 (different date/KM) and I know how much I paid for mine. If my coin is a benchmark 66 at $X, then I would grade the HA coin at 65-ish and work backwards in price from there.
Also, the Hiberno-Norse pieces were very nice, but even at half the estimate they were not bargains because you can buy them raw from CNG, York or a British dealer for no higher than $1200 retail. I refuse to pay for any holder-added value.

What's a "non-EVP grade"?

I like MS coins, or high end. Unless I paid stupid money, or the market drops dramatically, I think they'll give me a better chance of good financial return. But this coin is a EVP-quality coin in a non-EVP TPG grade.

But, I bet #2 would rise in popularity considerably once I get it in a PCGS MS63 holder (which is what I will do as raw submissions on all three pieces probably, since there is no downside!).

I already own a 1784-KM in 65BN. Oh well.

I'm a friggin' idiot, but those Russian pieces were going really cheap and I couldn't resist.
