how about Urban Meyer taking Ohio State to the D-1 title on Jan. 12 and then taking the vacant 49rs

Then next season he leads the 49rs to a Super Bowl win while Jim Harbaugh leads Michigan to a college title?

I think Urban Meyer is a good coach, but most college coaches don't fare so well their first year in the NFL. If the 49ers were to have Meyer for their coach next season, Vegas would probably raise the odds on them winning a championship. I think Harbaugh will focus a lot of his recruiting on that offensive line so they can run the ball like his Stanford teams did. I expect it will take him a few seasons of recruiting before he gets that line just how he likes it and in the conversation for a title run.

The only reason I give you even a 1% chance of this is because they haven't hired somebody yet. I am worried they are talking to Mora today. I hope not as he is doing a good job at UCLA. There has to be a reason they haven't hired somebody yet. They can't wait for the playoffs to be over to pick up a fired NFL coach if any get fired!?

The most successful college coaches have to be great recruiters of both players and coordinators, and managers of NCAA rule compliance. It's about the team, the team, the team. For an NFL coach to be successful, he has to be able to sooth and coddle millionaires. Coordinators run the games - for the most part, and general managers do the hiring and firing.

Whether being a successful college coach translates into being a successful NFL coach is mostly a matter of personalities. I believe it is much easier for an NFL coach to transition to college should they choose to do so.

No, but John Fox just tweeted him and Colin Kaepernick are going out to dinner for a "meeting".

No, not seriously- just messing around!

Although, Fox is talking to the Bears apparently. That'll go well....
