As you can see it is heavy, but I have no idea what it is!!!

Looks like George the 2nd Indian Peace Medal.

Don't know if original or copy, though I expect it is a copy because of the cast surface finish.

Definitely not an original. Eimer notes that copy dies were made in the early 19th century in England and soon thereafter entered the US Mint. Die flaws appeared (as shown on the example 1960NYGiants linked) and new copy dies were prepared in the 1880s. The surface definitely looks weird, though.
