Something called Goo Gone has been recommended in the past along with WD40. Best [if you can get it] is hexane, petroleum ether or any similar saturated hydrocarbon.

Goo Gone contains CAS # 64742-47-8 [among other things] which seems to be simple kerosene. I expect that something like Coleman camp stove or lantern fuel would do just as well. Try it out on an old slab or remnant fro a crackout first.

If you don't want to buy goo-gone, peanut butter works well too.

I have to do this constantly for photography. Surprisingly, I get the best results with the same stuff I use for polishing-out scratches: PlastX. Try it. Removes residue and cleans and polishes.

I just use isopropyl alcohol. It doesn't affect the PCGS sticker or anything and works perfectly. Just rub LIGHTLY with a soft cloth.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

I have used WD40, works great even on dried old stickers, just let it soak a bit on the old stickers.

Don't use any polishing compound to remove glue when it's on the hologram unless you want to also remove the hologram.

Every slabbed coin I buy gets an automotive cleaner/wax hand buffing. It cleans the crap off and leaves a protective coating. They look great.

I'm currently using a product called NUKLEEN N' Seal. Works good on the cars too!!

I once made the mistake of thinking I could "buff out" the scratches in a very old slab with my chrome buffing wheel and jewelers rouge. Don't do that......

I use a hair dryer to heat up the sticker/decal and typically it peels off pretty easy. If there's some leftover residue I use the sticker itself and dab the area over and over, and the remaining glue usually lifts off.
