A split payment on PayPal ?

bestdaybestday Posts: 4,242 ✭✭✭✭
Anyway of making a payment on PayPal ....splitting a payment using a credit card and checking account together ?
Surprised some of my low bids hit , on tonight's Great Collection.. like to use a CC with United miles, but short $ 400.00
Can I use a checking account for remaining amount not on card to make a PayPal payment ?

I suggest that you call Ian, or staff, at GC and make arrangements....I'm sure he will be happy to accommodate.

No, PayPal doesn't support split tenders with a credit card and bank account.

Credit card transactions cost PP money, so they don't like it.

To use a credit card, you first have to exhaust your PP balance, and then you can either fund the remainder with either your CC or bank account - but not both.

Why not just pay GC directly with your CC and get the points that way?

Yep. Make a call tomorrow and they'll let you pay any way you like. What'd you win?

He must be getting close to his credit limit. Best to call GC and see if they can split the bill/invoice so that you can pay it in 2 portions.

I think if you add funds to your PayPal account from your bank account, and then pay for the invoice, PayPal will use the funds in your account, and then you can choose to use the credit card for the remainder.

That would be the way to do it, but it takes a few days for the funds to show up in your PP account.

I don't think GC will let you split payment up on an auction invoice. friend of mine is really good friends (and customer) with ian, and I had him ask him if I could pay for a 8k purchase last week using 5k check and put the rest on a cc so I could float it till next month(due to the holiday spending), and they said no. so I just paid it.

Call your CC company and see if they will do a fee-less one time credit limit increase

This a reasonable idea, as is using your checking account to make a partial payment on your credit card.
