Opinions in investing in Playoff Contenders Football cards?

Yes or No? Some nice high end 10's right now, will these cards stand the market to be huge collection items? Take for example the 2004,Larry Fitzgerald card, PSA 10 sold for $999 pop two....

It is not something I am interested in doing but there have been plenty of winners in the modern category. Michael Jordan inserts are quick to come to mind.

The lotto is a low risk / high reward investment, if you know which numbers to pick.
If you like to gamble, buy the contenders when they come out, look for high grade no-bodies and hope they blossom into the next superstar.
Or..
Buy the contender rookies of established superstars now in high grade...hold onto...once they hit the HOF...sell asap for return. I.e. brady, manning, rodgers, etc.
