Going very big on first item sold 37,000.00 really?

Nothing like going really big on your first item being sold on Ebay!!! Wow. Seller has a small history of buying but this is his first time selling. Some nice cards in this collection. Scam maybe or do you think it is legit?

It looks legit to me although the starting bid is too high IMO.

Pretty crappy photos (and NO reverse scans) for such a high priced item.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
  • It looks legitimate to me, but a novice seller. Is this a good price for the items?

Be serious - $22k isn't even close. image

There are dozens of people who would take this lot at $22k if offered, I'll be the first in line for this lot at that price.

    Estimates on the big boys:
    1933 goudey PSA 4 Ruth's - $3,000-3,500 each
    1933 goudey Gehrig 4 - $1,500-1,800
    1934 goudey PSA 5 gehrig's - $3,000-3,500 each
    1951 bowman mantle 6 - $6,000, probably more?
    1952 bowman mantle 7 - $2,500-3,000

That's $22k using the low end, and there's still these to go:
    1953 mantle psa 6 - $1,500-2,000
    1956 mantle psa 7 - 1,500-2,000
    1939 dimaggio psa 6 - $1,000-1,500
    1941 dimaggio psa 4 - $800+
    maris auto
    mantle auto
That's easily another $5-6k LOW END.

Just for arguments sake, let's say my LOW END is still 25% too high, you'd still come out at over $22k for the lot.

I agree $37k is a bit high, but it's not crazy high.
