I'm surprised

With all the armchair geniuses here, that no one mentioned the no bid on the ruble today...
When there are no buyers the casino shuts down, a foreshadowing of the paper gold contract in physical gold when there are no sellers or available phyzz?.... Hmmm...

The 17% interest rates are enticing. Rather hold Russian debt at those rates than Spain or Italy at 2%.

Why couldn't there be no paper buyers?

Things seem deflationary right now. I think fed language is long term rate hold tomorrow.

    edit to add:
put the docs to Putin's neck tomorrow.

I was thinking about that Russian vodka. It could save the Russkies.

Bberg is saying some fx brokers closing positions, others not allowing new trades.

    Brutal

    But necessary

I wouldn't want to predict a Russian move from here. They could just say screw you to sanction countries and their businesses or start with controls and move towards state run core industries bartering if need be.

They've had 3 generations to do this. What do they say about doing something the same way over and over again and expecting a different result?

I'm sure youre aware that one of the major exchanges shut down the trading of rubles today.

Ask those that have Russian investments now.

That cliche works opposite history repeating itself.

I'm surprised as well. Surprised that anyone who so frequently and explicitly expresses contempt and disdain as do you continues to seek advice/opinion/polite response from the members here. They are perhaps not geniuses but they are honest people who express themselves intelligently, politely, and do so routinely. Is it too much to request that you do the same?

I don't understand your point here. Could you please elaborate? What do you intend that we should understand by this?

I think the point is that every PM forum has a small group that appears to have a deep understanding of not only precious metals, but futures contracts, currency trading, chart rhythms, option collars etc.

This same group tends to pile into any perceived "intellectual" thread where there holds an opportunity to flex their prowess in front of the group. The others in this self identified group will interpret this as an attack on their standing and will pile into to the thread and challenge the point with the results of their own furious googling to counter.

Rawteam is testing his standing in this group as he attempts to smite them with Ruble currency insights that any of the others who feel their in this group should have commented on.

The rest of us are to are grateful for the crumbs of wisdom.

Not in a armchair....but the Ruble appears to have no bids today. ;~

Wouldn't be surprised to see it retest the lows within the next few weeks.
