So he would rather take $3500 OBO than spend a nominal fee to send the card to PSA and potentially get VCP average between $6500 - $8000? Run away for sure.
Baseball, it is said, is only a game. True. And the Grand Canyon is only a hole in Arizona.
I'm in that group and saw that. I don't think anyone is buying that it's real. A grown man who chooses a picture like that for FB shouldn't be trusted when it comes to an 87 topps bob knepper, let alone that.
This card was double printed and the two printings have slight differences.
One thing I noticed is the top border around Mantle’s name. On the version where the black border is smooth (as is the one on FB), the lower left corner is missing a pixel, thus not forming a complete square corner. The one on FB has the lower border overlaping the left side border. It's hard to tell, but also on the version where the black border is smooth, the stitches on the baseball in the top left on the reverse are facing to the left.
STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Even from a bad, bad picture, you can tell that there are no pixels on the card itself. It's probably on thinner stock too. You can probably shine a flashlight right through it.
Thanks guys. Not that I had planned on buying it but if it was real I knew it's more than 3500 so I would've somehow found that money to get it. I'll be passing for sure

With this card in particular, I'm not sure why anyone would buy raw. The chances are so high that it is counterfeit, trimmed, colored, or some/all of the above. I understand the desire to get a good deal, but with many things in life, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is. I think this especially applies to the 52 Mantle.

Truth.
ETA: It has those perfectly rubbed corners and creases right in the middle, just as you would expect when a con artist is trying to make a card look old.
