Is this an old SGC Slab?

Heyy, I was looking and have never seen this slab from SGC. Also looks like there is a visible surface crease on the bottom front. I dont think current SGC would have given this a 7.5 today?

It's a PSA 2. The card is stained and creased.
  • It looks like a reprint that has been falsely aged to me.
  • Thanks for the link.

My first impression was a fake but the rest of his stuff seems legit. Just seeing if it anyone was familiar with that slab. I'll stay away.

    Thanks for the help!

  • Wow didn't even notice the SG LLC. Just saw the sgc website which is correct for them.
  • It's impressive, but EVERY PART of this card is fake. Fake Orr...fake flip. Burn it with fire!!

I contacted the seller and here is his responses:

    Dear canard6969,

Hi there, a very nice card that I am considering bidding on. I do not see any where in your listing that the card is an original and not a reprint. Can you verify that it is an original and not a reprint? Thanks.

    His response:

Hi, from my experience when a card is graded by a reputable company like SGC one of the best it is an original card. When a card is ungraded you have to be careful like you are. Most of the times when a card is brand new you have to be more careful. This card has some wear on it.

Let me know if you have other questions. Thanks for asking.

The grading companies will not grade reprints card unless they will write it on the card holder.

    Dear canard6969,

Thanks for the quick response. I am fairly new to the card grading but I have never seen that type of SGC holder for a card. Do you know if it a new holder or an older one? I have purchased 4 SGC cards this year and none of them looked like the one you have. Thanks again for your quick response.

    His response:

Hi, I noticed that too and I looked on ebay for SGC graded and saw at least 3 other ones Blue but most of them are green. I don't know if it was before they started green or ?? But it is definitely same info on both colors. I could call them up to find out.

  • Fortunately, as a buyer, you essentially have immunity from scams on eBay. Still, good to avoid the hassle.
