Also looks like a very small crease on the bottom right corner. So their will be a few things to notice if any raw versions go up on auction.
Did you insure the Rose? If it wasn't signed for tgen you could file an insurance claim I would think
<< <i>Thanks everybody. I guess I need to file a police report? >>
Do you have anything solid that it was STOLEN? While you could claim that someone in the PO stole it, that is not nearly solid enough. A neighbor could have taken it. Its the holiday season and anyone could be going around stealing packages. I dont see this as something the police would get involved in....especially when it is a federal issue and the PO can investigate themselves. If it was not insured, you are SOL unless it pops up.
It's an unfortunate situation but I dont see the police having anything to do with it.
the envelope looked as though it had been run over by the bike as well as a herd of stampeding livestock. somehow, the contents did not get destroyed.
the guy who brought the package was decked out in brown, and it turns out he's with UPS. they must be short on trucks. geez.
today, UPS came back, presumably with an actual truck, because we discovered a large new rolled up piece of carpet wrapped in plastic sitting in our front doorway.
it was intended for a neighbor a couple blocks away with the same numbered address.
the Mrs. tossed it in the car and finished off the job herself.

In 2012 I had a buyer claim to not receive a $2,000 item.
There was signature confirmation on the package and no insurance.
Somehow, he got out of signing for the package.
Without insurance, there is absolutely nothing you can do but write it off.
With insurance you're looking at a painstaking insurance claim process.
I'm perplexed as to what to do for big money sales. If it's a paypal transaction we're required to put signature confirmation. If they pay by other means it's best NOT to add signature confirmation.
Some steps I've taken to keep this from happening again:
1) self-insure all packages.
2) print large "SIGNATURE REQUIRED" stickers and affix them to every single side of the box including one right next to the shipping label.
3) investigate before sending out. Creep on the buyer. Facebook them. Search their address and email. Gather as much info as you can. Apartments and Condos are risky.
4) Contact their Post Master in advance that the package is coming their way. You can also ask your Post Master to contact theirs on your behalf.
Good luck and sorry this happened I know how it feels!

<< <i>It's way too early to be calling this a stolen card. You need to tell the buyer to go into his Post Office with the tracking number and inquire about the whereabouts of the package. It's very likely sitting at the Post Office waiting to be picked up. If it's not, then tell him to speak with the Postmaster so the carrier can be questioned about what was done with the package. If it's determined to be misdelivered they are usually very effective at recovering the package. This needs to be done as soon as possible while everything is fresh in the carrier's mind. >>
They claim to have tried to pick it up twice and left empty handed twice.
You did not insure this card? Seriously, you must be out of your mind to not mail this insured! You are begging for it to be stolen! Or even the buyer claim that it was never received because the tracking still shows it was never delivered!
You have been in the card business / hobby for how long mailing cards? Don't you read the posts about people losing expensive cards in the mail all the time? Really, this was a very dumb move by you. If this doesn't teach you a lesson, nothing will.

<< <i>It would be great if when whomever ultimately stole the card gets up to the pearly gates, that St. Peter gives a quick, loud, thumb & index-finger-in-mouth tweet of a whistle and out would pop 4 giant heads that would headbutt the culprit back down the escalator. If the 4 on the card couldn't make it, then Manny, Moe & Jack with tire irons would suffice. >>
LOL! This!
<< <i>I truly don't understand why someone would steal merchandise if given the chance such as USPS not requiring a signature. I just received a double of a $250 gift card that I purchased on ebay. I was very quick to contact the seller. They were happy that I was honest. I don't mean to toot my horn, but the world would be a better place if we didn't take advantage of others just because we could get away with it. >>
