Pricing Question-1970 Topps Football Rack Pack

Is anyone familiar with these? I consider myself fairly naive when it comes to rack packs in general, but haven't heard much nor have I seen much on the '70 football despite hours of researching online. I picked this up on eBay, but really had and continue to have little idea on how to price it. The best I found was a rack pack lot on one of the auction sites which included a mint '70 football with OJ Simpson front and center. However this was 1 of 7 or 8 rack packs in the lot I believe and it was in 2004! I think the lot sold for something like $3500.

I've posted pictures of the front and back here for viewing. All cards showing are 1st series, (1-132) but I don't know enough to know if the entire rack is likely to be 1st series. The exterior is noticeably dirty, in fact the plastic appears more yellow than clear. I suspect it is just the years of dust, dirt, etc. that have accumulated. There are no holes, tears or anything of the sort that I can find, so any dirt or marks you may see on the scans are likely limited to the outer plastic casing and wouldn't be affecting the cards. Along the same line, on close inspection, the cards themselves do not appear discolored or affected by the environment in which it was stored.

I don't collect football, but that rack has all the hallmarks of an authentic rack from that year~circular punch hole, wider seams between sections, correct header card, etc. That said, the rack does have several tears between sections.

ETA: At $499, I think you did get an excellent price on it.

Nice rack. Are you planning to open it?

    Thanks,

Really appreciate the info Tim, and nice to know my intuition wasn't completely off. As for the question of whether I plan to open it - the answer would be no. Though I tend to open most racks that I buy, the scarcity of this specific pack will prevent me from doing so. Tim can correct me, but I would guess the value of the 1970 cards here fall significantly below the value of the unopened rack itself. Though this appears to often be the case pre-1985, the discrepancy for this one seems especially large.
