PSA Bulk Pack Grading?

I was wondering if anyone here knows of any bulk pricing options available for PSA pack grading? I have something on the order of 150 packs that I'd like graded, but have no interest in paying $14 (most) or even $35 per pack. At $14, thats over $2000 for 150 packs. I'm going to email them to see what may be available but still curious to know if anyone here received any discounts and if so, what they were?

    This has been brought up before~I believe they will go as low as $12 per pack if you have sufficient quantity (100 or more), but that was a while ago. The late miconelegacy tried to put together a bulk sub of a couple hundred packs back then at that price point but it never really got off the ground.

    Wow, not that much of a discount, but I guess you got to take what you can get. I think I mentioned 300 packs in the email, so I'll be interested to see if the discount is any lower. I'll try and update this thread if/when they get back to me on it.

    Good luck. The last time they ran a pack special which was quite a while back the price was $12 per pack. Back when regular price per pack was $12, I recall special was $10 per pack.

    Yeah, I'm not so sure that PSA even wants to encourage
    large submissions of packs. They are a real pain in the
    butt to PSA.

    First they have to pack them up to send to Steve At BBCE
    in such a way that they can withstand the trip half way
    across the country and back without the gum poking
    through the wrappers, just to get them authenticated,
    and with Steve's business going gangbusters right now,
    it's pretty amazing that he even has time to authenticate
    them.

    They have to pay shipping to send them, and they have
    to pay shipping to get them back.

    They have to pay Steve to authenticate them.

    Then whenever they get them back from Steve, they
    can grade them and try to slab them in a way that
    the gum doesn't break through the wrapper while
    its in the slab, not just on the way back to you, but
    ever, and they've had real headaches with this part.

    I'm not trying to get anyone to feel sorry for our host,
    as I'm sure they're making money on pack submissions,
    but you can see that pack grading and card grading
    are not the same animal.

    I've been keeping track (via screenshots) of the Monthly Specials of the 3 major TPG's since December 2010 (missing only a couple), and here are the pack specials from PSA since then:


    August 2011
    ------------------
    Modern Pack Special ($10/pack for packs valued under $500 each)
    1972 to present
    approx 45 business day turnaround

    January 2012
    ------------------
    Pack Special
    Unfortunately, you needed to click on a link to see the details of the special, and I didn't do that.

    June 2012

    $12/pack, no minimum
    1957 to present, valued under $250 each
    approx 45 business day turnaround

    November 2012
    -------------------------
    $12/pack, no minimum
    1957 to present, valued under $250 each
    approx 45 business day turnaround

    As you can see, there hasn't been a pack special in over two years (unless I missed it).

    What is the maximum dimension of a pack that can be holdered for grading by PSA? I was looking for a max Length/Width/Depth measurement on their website but haven't found it. I've got some 1936 Reemstma packs where if graded card by card, the cards would be in tallboy holders, not standard size.

    I believe largest sized pack they will holder would be suze of a 52 Topps wax pack. They do not holder larger sized packs like super cellos or special issues like super packs.

    Basketball??? Thwy made packs of those??

    I have 100 or so as well but just not sure the investment is worth it. That's another $1200+ I could buy more packs instead of having them graded. Sooner or later I will have all the unopenened packs and they will pay me to grade them. It's a sick and disgusting cycle.
