I just have always herd that phrase tossed around. And I don't disagree.

Certainly many serious injuries result from football and I would not play the game, but have never seen a player decapitated (at least literally) or burned to a crisp on the playing field.

Poor example, also nobody forces these guys to play. Unlike a car accident which is an accident and far worse injuries occur or can occur. Nothing against the OP but I'm tired of people feeling bad for Athletes the prostitute their body's for the money and fame.
