I just sent in an over 50 pre 56 grading order and got it back in about a week. It was crazy fast.

  • Extremely hit-or-miss, as usual. Some popping within a week, some going for 60+. My most recent was around 25 days.

My experience as well. I usually send in via 20-day or 30-day orders. Some a popping within a week of being logged. My last one was a 20-day order that logged on 11/14 which is still not popped. Seems like it's taking forever....probably hit F5 10K times.

It would be great to know PSA's processing methods as to which order goes first, etc.

Sent in a 50-day sub that arrived the Tuesday before Thanksgiving (11/25). The bad news is that it didn't log until the Monday after Thanksgiving (12/1). The good news is it popped that Thursday (12/4). 50 cards, 50-day special.

I would be interested in knowing also. Mailed a "50 day" in on Nov 5; it was logged Nov. 19; and have not heard a thing since the email stating my order was in process. This was my very first submission so they may take previous submittors ahead of a first timer? I sent 64 cards - 24@1956 and 40@1959.

It's normal for it say it's in process until the order is completed and ready to be sent to you. I would expect your order to pop in early-mid January. I don't think being a first timer has anything to do with grading times. None of us really know why Nikklos "50 Day" submission popped after only a few days while my "20 Day" submission was logged before his and still isn't graded. Maybe he wrote a nicer letter to Santa?

When people say their order "popped", they just mean that PSA has uploaded the grades of each card online. On your "Your Account" page, when you click the order number it will change from "Your order is still being processed." to a list of all your subbed cards with their grades. Once the grades show up online, you should receive the cards back a couple days later.

Thanks, Davis, for walking through the process. I fully expect it to take some time with the 50 day sub. Does the 50 day refer to business or calendar days?

Business Days. And the clock starts ticking from the day it was "logged", not delivered by UPS or USPS.

If you have an order full of oddball cards then they have to research the cards so that is what takes the time.
If you send in a 50 card order with all mainstream Topps cards then it will be turned around fast..

Bummer about the grades. Some people share their grades via copy + paste (some people cherry pick what they share). Always makes for some good discussion.

Now....what is taking my 20 day order so stinkin' long??? Must take a few extra days to have "Gem Mint" printed on the labels.....
  • Davis, what day are you on for your 20 Day?

logged on 11/14/14. Not sure how to count the days with the Thanksgiving Day holiday. It's a small sub but I'm anxious because it has a mid-grade raw '86 fleer michael jordan in it. And my 30-day to open an ebay case window is closing if it turns out to fake.

Funny. I also have a 20-day sub that logged on 11/14. Race!

I am assuming that today is day 17, with no business days on Thurs/Friday for Thanksgiving. Should be sometime next week?

Doubt there are a ton of 50 card minimum submissions pre 1956 in the que. That's probably why it went so quick.

Now, I do have a 50 card review post-1955 out there. That might take a little longer I'm guessing.

  • No poppage yet, despite constant refreshing. Refreshes help move the sub along quicker, right?
  • My grades just popped. Mind > matter.

Damn, mine did not. How'd you do?

  • A bunch of HOF Rookie autos. Funny thing, both the Bucyk and the Barber were PSA crackouts that went UP a full grade after being signed. One of the Dionne's was a PSA 6 that went down 1. The Bourque and Neely were in SGC holders that I cracked out and both "crossed" to the same grade. The Clarke, Lafleur, and Messier were raw and graded as expected.

Overall, happy. I think I tend to personally grade too conservatively, at least based on my last few subs. Grades have generally been at or better than expected.

Hope yours pop soon. Good luck.

    515. Lot came with the above Bird/Magic RC and ewing rc. And a coupke other cheaper cards (Kevin mchale RC, 2nd year bird). Huge score.
  • Wow. Congrats. You have a good eye for picking up the high end raw material.
