Just got my package from Heritage

So I win 1, I repeat, 1 graded card from Heritage Auctions and this is how it came today. I don't care how they send it, as long as it arrives safely, but this is just so unnecessary. I put a graded card next to it to show the size of both.

I think they hired wack packer Gary from the Howard Stern show as their packager.

Personally, given what that card is worth, I would want and expect a seller to ship it like that.

I've had cards shipped to me packed in small boxes, or otherwise packed well, and the USPS has still managed to damage/destroy them.

Props to Heritage for packing it like that image

By the way, congratulations on getting that beautiful card!! image

I agree. If it showed up in a #000 bubble mailer I'd be livid. However maybe a box half that size would have done the trick. Nice catch btw, congrats on saving up and owning your card.

Oh man, what a beautiful card. Congratulations!

I'd have shipped it in the same box to be honest.

That card should be double if not triple boxed. Nice pick up!

There was a box in the box. No complaints here, as long as it arrives OK.

    Just a gorgeous item.

I would've wanted it shipped in the same sort of crate that Ralphie's old man's Major Award came in.

Should have emailed them and said there's no card in the box, just another box.

Question: are you considering adding the Test version to your collection or are you happy with only this version?

I would love the Test version, but the card rarely comes up in higher grade. I will start to save at the beginning of the year and hope to pick up a nice one when I'm ready. Construction is a bit slow in the winter months so it will be a long wait to get the Test version. It will definitely be worth it.

In the world of key rookie cards - that is a work of art ! Love the almost perfect centering and solid corners.

    Outstanding!
  • Wow, that card is a HUGE card. Just VCP'd it. I bet it feels amazing to own that. You will never lose on that card if you decide to resell it say in about two years or more. This definitely motivates me that if you can save that much for that in a year, then I can save up for my Nolan Rookie in an 8.

Thanks for showing off that beauty.

OMG what an incredible card. It's on my bucket list but I won't be buying an 8.

Just wondering, do you only buy one card a year?

Am I the only one who thinks he looks Eli Manning, or I guess Eli Manning looks like a young Bobby Orr

This is the one I've been saving for all year. I buy cards for my sets but they are nowhere in this card's range. I have seen this card more than double in the last 2 years and I see how the 52 Topps Mantle is getting out of most people's range now so I didn't want the same thing to happen to this card. The goal right now is to save as much as possible in 2015 for the Test Orr. It will be MUCH more than this regular version but will be worth it in the long run. Just a waiting game right now. I have set my goals and will see them through without getting sidetracked. 1 down and 1 to go.

Great card. Congratulations on landing one of your favorites. Good luck on the Test version.

He does look like Eli. image

I guess they were being extra cautious with the packaging, considering the value. Great pick up and fantastic job saving up for so long to get it.

+1 on the Eli Manning resemblance image
