NewP from Houston Money Show 1862 C Ce 8 Reales

I was able to add a nice coin to the collection, an 1862 C CE 8 Reales graded MS62 from Dr. Eugene Bruder. He is primary a US Coin dealer but did have a few world coins in the case. The 8 Reales was from his personal collection. The cap side has light toning with strong luster strong center strike with a weak outer strike. I held it at an angle in an attempt to get a decent pic of the luster and details. The eagle side has darker toning. It is a scarce mint state coin with only 4 graded between the two primary services.

The Houston Money Show was good although a little light on the Latin America material. A couple of better know Latin American dealers, one local and one national did not attend. I did hear from multiple people, ancients were selling strong and seemed to be a hot item.

Gold was also a hot commodity depending on personal forecasts, most saw it as a buying opportunity with lower bullion prices dragging down classic pricing, while a few wanted to hold off to see if prices continue to fall.
