I have a question about a Ray Rippelmeyer I received in a TTM

Early Merry Christmas and Happy New Years folks! I sent a TTM out not to long ago to Mr. Rippelmeyer, a 1990 CMC Nashville Sounds. He signed it and sent 3 extras along with it. The one in question is the 2011 Topps Heritage. At the top its has "Player Sample", does anyone have any insight those types of cards? Thank you in advance.

I have seen others. From what i understand (reading elsewhere), Topps gave each player an amount (50 comes to mind) to use for their own needs and they were marked Player Sample to distinguish between the pack inserted cards and their personal use copies.
I collect Steve Garvey, Dodgers and signed cards. Collector since 1978.

I remember Ray when he was the pitching coach for the Phillies 30 + years ago. That's a unique card he sent you!

    Congrats!
