OK, I admit it's pretty weird that I even have this collection:

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
I don't know how I feel about this collection. Let me chew on it for a while.
They call me "Pack the Ripper"

This display is really quite impressive!
<< <i>Tim - Nice OPC ,72 gum. Looks like it can be broken into 4 Dentyne size pieces. >>
Thanks, Daniel~1973 OPC also had those separation lines, but gum was not quite as pink (or sugary).
Here's a pair from 1974 Topps:

The gum was yellow!

As with yellow snow, the same rule applies to yellow gum ie "Don't eat the yellow gum!!!"

I don't know. The 1975 piece just don't look authentic to me. You could have written any year you wanted to on it. The stains look artificially aged. I think it may be counterfeit. In order to know for sure, I would need to see it under magnification.
Also, the 1975 Topps Mini looks like a very scarce O-Pee-Chee variation. The rough cut sides give it away. That one may be very valuable.
The 1980 piece looks trimmed on the side.
The 1983 piece has too many print defects to grade high.
The centering on the 1984 piece is dead on!

Eric, I checked the cert # for your 81 gem mint 10 gum stick and its coming up as "not a valid cert number". I suggest you contact the person you bought it from and tell them they likely sold you a fake 81 gum stick. Perhaps they swapped out a 9 and put it in the 10 holder, or even worse, swapped out a 1982 or 83 stick and masqueraded it as a more valuable 81. Does the stick have any evidence of trimming or recoloring???? Even worse, does the holder have any frosting on the edges???? Oh wait, its a gum stick so the holder wouldnt have frosting but bubbling instead.
in any event, I hope whoever you bought this from issues you a full refund for this obvious, blatant fake should you decide to go the refund pursuit route.
<< <i>I still remember the dejection I felt when opening this pack~dead centered, too! (There's actually another card stuck to the back of the Clemente IA card, too, LOL!

I wonder if PSA would slab that? It might get a PSA 1 with an FS qualifier....FS standing for "foreign substance".

<< <i>This is probably the funniest thread I've ever seen. And the odd thing is...I like it! What would be even cooler is if you could find all the cards that each gun was stuck to. >>
We're talking about gum here, not guns; if you want to talk about guns you should go on the guns forum. It can be found on the navigation list right after the knives forum.
okay, back to rifling through that 75 basketball vending box I pulled the trigger on last week; looking for bullets cards--how I love elvin hayes!!

Never in my collecting life, did I ever dream I could I effectively respond to a hypothetical like that, LOL!
Clockwise from left to right: 1977 Topps cello pack, 1974 Topps wax pack (Bonus team checklist pack), 1972 OPC wax pack and 1973 OPC wax pack.
