1986 Minor League Game Used Bat Signed by Bo Jackson Opinions ?

I went to a Memphis Chicks game when I was in high school with some friends to mainly see Bo Jackson play. During the game a player from the opposing team (I don't even remember who they were playing) broke his bat during his swing and the barrel flew into the stands. I ran over and picked it up. After the game Bo was signing autographs and I got him to sign the bat. Unfortunately all I had for him to sign with was a ball point pen and not a sharpie, so the signature never really appeared very bold. I have kept the bat since then and recently considered selling it to someone who would appreciate it more than me, as it is just collecting dust in the corner. Question is does it have enough value to worry with ? especially since the signature on the bat is very light. Would anyone have a opinion on the value of something like this ? I know there are a few Bo Jackson collectors out there who may like to have something like this in their collection. I have a few pics below...........

For as relatively little as you could expect to get in return (i.e. bat not his, ink signature, etc), I would simply keep it & continue to tell your experience for years to come.

Lol, that's what I've been doing for the past 30 years or so. My wife asked me about it the other day, which means she is ready for it to go away. I thought if it had enough value to mess with a Bo Jackson collector may like it and take better care of it than me.

I would explain to your wife that the value of the item with increase exponentially AFTER Jackson dies and tell her you need to keep it until then.

Hopefully Bo will then live to a ripe old age.

I would think it could fetch around $100. Cool story. Good luck with sale.

A similar side story relating to Bo. My cousin was a caddy at Chicago's Golf Club. It's extremely exclusive with something around 100 members, mostly current and former pro athletes. Bo Jackson is a member there, and left his hat in one of the golf carts. My cousin got a hold of it and gave it to me knowing I'm a Bo fan.

There's no way to really authenticate it outside of a DNA test, so it only has value to me, but it's one of my favorite pieces in my collection. Hoping one day I can get it signed.

    Bo knows golf.
