Mantle card question

It goes without saying that the 52 Mantle rookie card is the holy grail and wanted in any and every grade by collectors. Besides the 1952 card it seems the '53, '56, and '62 are also highly coveted. If you had to rank the top 3 Mantle cards in a PSA 8 grade what would they be? Conversely, what would be the three Mantle cards from Topps that are lowest in demand by collectors in PSA 8?

I would say right after the 52 Topps, the 51B rookie is the most widely desired.

After that, I would imagine there's much variance in all of our personal choices. For me, the list goes like this in terms of favorites, regardless of grade...

    1. 52 Topps
    2. 51 Bowman Rookie
    3. 53 Bowman Color
    4. 56 Topps
    5. 54 Bowman
    6. 52 Bowman
    7. 57 Topps
    8. 61 Topps
    9. 53 Topps
    10. 62 Topps
    11. 60 Topps

I would guess the basic issues that are on the bottom of most people's lists are the 67T, 69T, 63T, and 55B. For me, those are just the least flattering images compared to his other issues. Of course there are other cards like the 59 Bazooka, the Stahl Meyer, and the Wheaties Rookie Premium that feature very striking and flattering images of that amazing athlete in his early prime.

1952 Topps and 1951 Bowman are first and second. After that, I like:

    1953 Topps
    1956 Topps
    1953 Bowman

    Least favorites:

    1967 Topps
    1969 Topps
    1966 Topps

    Also love the:

    1959 Bazooka
    1953-55 Stahl Meyer
    1960 Post

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.

It is a given that the '52 Mantle is his most recognizable and desirable card. I will never own one, unfortunately.

I also like Mantle in a follow through swing (57 or 65)...give me the clean 57 design and the first use of full photograph shots by Topps... and in switch-hitting batting stances (64 the only right handed batting pose and three left hand hitting poses...66, 68, and 69)...prefer the 66 design.

As far as portrait shots...56 and 58 are very attractive as well as either 62 or 63. The '62 and '63 cards are very similar...showing Mantle looking away from camera...but the 63 design trumps the 62 design for me...also on the 63 in the background is famous facade of old Yankee Stadium.

also like the '54 Red Heart as well as '57 Topps, both attractive looking cards.

late 60's Mantles kinda go with the territory if you're trying to collect them all.

For me I would rate them as such:

1952 Topps based on demand, rookie card, historical significance...
1953 Topps - probably the best looking Mantle IMO because of the artwork, and such a difficult card due to the lower red border.
1956 Topps - iconic pose and his Triple Crown year. Great value since there are no 54 or 55 Topps, and the gap in price between the 52/53 and the 56 is huge.

Honorable mention - 1957 - so tough to find centered, 1965 is a great pose, and 1960 when centered is a minster.
