VCP membership question

Well after looking at VCP and what it involves I figured it would save me a lot of time in regards to finding cards I want in certain grades as well as past history without using the Ebay advanced feature or scrolling through the PWCC auction results - both which are good but takes time. For those that use VCP what features do you find the most helpful, and is there a big enough difference between the features of the gold membership to justify getting it versus the silver? Thank you in advance for the help and this could get dangerous for me nowimage

I'd like to know if there's a difference between the memberships too.

Had a free account a few years ago and I loved VCP.

This is from a post that Bobby made 6 years ago on the VCP site. Not sure if it is still the case, but thought it might be helpful:

The only difference in site features between both member types is the ability to view links to past auctions/images, seller, buyer and bid count. These features will be available to Gold members only.

Thank you for the replies, and sounds as if the only difference is like you stated below - being able to see the actual images of the cards along with the prices realized portion. Anyone see this as a big enough deal to get gold? I think I will start with silver on a monthly basis and move up to gold if I feel I am missing anything. Thank you again for the help.

Personally, I think it makes a huge difference. When you see a discrepancy in price among the same grade, I find it helpful to check out the images to see what caused this discrepancy. Also, when an eBay scan is kind of iffy or it's a cell phone photo with glare or taken from an unflattering angle, if you do some research and match the cert # with past sales you can get a better look at the card.

It depends on what you want to use the membership for. I find the images valuable to review the price compared to how good I think the card looks for the grade. Having the other information can be valuable as well since sometimes there are big discrepancies between an ebay sale price and an auction house price (even between some ebay sellers). Just seems like the additional information is worth the cost for the sets I use it for. That additional information can be useful if you think something is fishy with the card/activity/bidder/seller to check on the card history based on previous sales.

Depending on the set you collect, you can get some of that information for free on cardtarget.com

    Link for cardtarget

It doesn't have all sets and I can't speak for its overall accuracy but sometimes I go over there when looking for a more common set. Not sure why, i just find it easier sometimes to look at multiple cards/grades based on their layout.

Well worth the price but I highly recommend the gold so you can compare centering. Helps to buy the card and not the flip

Agreed, if you can't see the card you only have half the story. It pays for itself quickly.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

Go for the gold if you're considering the membership and you purchase a fair # of cards. The images are really helpful.
