1937 P & 1938 P Washingtons, are they the "Rodney Dangerfields" of the series?

Seems these two dates don't seem to get enough respect (as evidenced by their relative pricing), is it 'cuz they are "P" mints?
At PCGS, it appears the '38 P has the lowest certified mint state pop of any 1930's issues ( excluding the motto varieties of 1934).
Both are genuinely tougher to find graded or raw, and I don't think there are large hoards out there waiting to be graded.
What say ye?

not my series to know the finer details of such

i would think many a high grade can be found sitting in albums by owners who haven't a clue what slabbing is

i would think if the "bounty" was higher
they'd be more sitting in pops
but mint marked in those years has the bounty attached
i would think "P" has alot of play in this

the whole 1982 and 1983 comes to mind
if they were hard ones to catch...they'd be a chase on
everything in life is but merely on loan to us by our appreciation....lose your appreciation and see

I agree with you that both of those dates could be "sleepers" based upon current levels. But, let's not forget their "S" mint counterparts ... killer coins as well (especially the 37-S).

IMO there is lots of upside potential for the 1930's Washingtons.

... but only if interest in the series rises from its current level. Will it happen? I think it far from a sure thing. Collectors who once had an interest in the series are getting old and I'm not sure anyone is coming along to take their place.
    All glory is fleeting.
