what would cause a delay on a 1 card submission?

I submitted a 1 card order for the first time and it is a couple days late on its turnaround time. I'm fine with that as long as it gets graded. The card appears to be a solid 7 easily. My question is could it take this long to determine authenticity or that it has not been altered? Or would that likely already have been determined. Any input or experiences would be greatly appreciated, Tom

Think positive..probably put it off to the side since it was only one card and would only take a few minutes to complete.(but still complete within time period) Alterations are normally easy and quick to find.

Thanks. That was what I was thinking (wishful thinking) and happy to hear someone else is looking at it like me.

I had a one ticket submission that took about a week past the 45 day turnaround time. It was a one of one and took some research, which could be the cause for a delay. Low pop items would probably take a little longer to grade, I would think.

Sent in a 1 card sub on 3 day service. It popped about 6 days after logging. Unless it's oddball-y, it should pop shortly.

    Good Luck.
