EBay Bucks, Coupon Codes and VCP

What do eBay bucks and coupon codes do to VCP?

I've got a 5x and a 10%, and just went nuke on an auction and lost. Pretty much a 200-220 card, 2nd underbid was 205, mine was 300, and 305 was the winner. I know without the offer my high was 250. Seller should thank me...LOL...without my bid it's sold for 207.50. I've gotta assume the winner was leveraging same codes as me.

Is the onset of these deals artificially driving prices up?

Gotta think it really helps the prices on ebay.

I wish I was geting those codes. There are tons of great hockey auctions tonight I would get in on. But I knew those codes will price me out so I won't even bid.

The coupons may help but your are getting ebay bucks and not cash. I think the 10% off coupons drive bids higher more than ebay bucks.

Activity picks up this time of the year due to Christimas. Maybe the lower gas prices are helping?

I believe so, Jim. I took a swipe at a piece of unopened goodness earlier today (with the 10 percenter in my arsenal) and someone nuked the joint in the waning seconds. The kicker: I'm almost certain my stake in the ground would have set a record by itself.

I agree the 10% has a greater effect, but bucks go a ways to, if there are other items you're looking to buy. I don't mind throwing that spare change in the kitty.

My concern is that we're seeing new highs and driving up the avg. which at some point affects future listings.

This is not necessarily a bad thing, but now I'm starting to see highs massively offset from averages.
