I love this show! A show just for ancients! (Although there is usually some nice worlds too.)
The show is put together by John Jencek. It's a very small show but there's always high quality material. I always walk away with something I'm happy about. And at one show I had the pick of their coins before CNG put them up for sale on their site. I got a nice Maussollos tetradrachm.

Then Friday evening there's always a lecture. This time it's:

David Hendin, ANS adjunct curator

The American Numismatic Society and the San Francisco Historical Bourse announce a study seminar on The Basics of Numismatic Forgeries, featuring presentations by Dr. Ute Wartenberg Kagan, Executive Director of the ANS, and David Hendin, ANS adjunct curator. They will be followed by a panel discussion with Wartenberg, Hendin, Frank Kovacs of San Francisco, and Victor England of Classical Numismatic Group.

Wow that's really impressive for a small show. Wish I could hang out with you but a few thousand miles and a bevy of obligations say "nay."

If you ever get the chance it's worth going out of your way for. Or make a small vacation out of it. San Francisco is a cool city to visit and explore.

And the Historical Bourse is held twice a year.

It's a fantastic city. I have been twice. The first time, to visit my sister when she started college there. The second time, after she graduated to help her move from San Fran to L.A.

It's a truly magical city, one which I can hardly wait to visit again but will probably not get the chance for many more years.
