I've been collecting Ellis Burks cards and memorabilia since I met him at Fenway Park in 1987 when I was 10 years old. I have almost all of his cards from 86-97 with some spots to fill. One of them being the 1989 Topps Heads Up. Feel free to email me.

I got an Ellis Burks card in my first ever pack of cards. I still have it. He was one of my favorite players when I was growing up. His '88 starting lineup figure is sitting on a shelf in my home office right now, next to dwight Evans. Good luck with your search. I'd love to see photos of your collection, if you're willing to post them in the sports card forum.
  • That's awesome! Really cool to hear. I am actually looking to create a website with all of my cards and misc items I have of his. Glad that some people would care to see it. Thanx for the reply.

Best of luck on your search. I love to see collectors so focused on their favorite players. I was dumfounded to see that Burks played 18 years in the majors. I had no clue.
  • Thank you. I had taken MANY years off from collecting so unfortunately I'm playing catch up. Plus going to card shows isnt really worth my time because most people aren't going to bring or out out a Burks card even if it is a 1/1 or something like that. Makes the search much harder but somehow more fun too. Yeah I'm sure there's many people that didn't realize he played for 18 seasons and that he put up solid career numbers. He had some good years, some great years and some not so good but all in all it was a good career. Hopefully one day I can at least come very close to completely my collection. Thanx guys!

    Wish I could help.

My friends thought I was crazy to set aside Ellis Burks in my "star" pile.

    Great player.

Burks, Devon White and Moises Alou would constitute the All-90's underrated outfield.
Always looking for 1993-1999 Baseball Finest Refractors and1994 Football Finest Refractors.
