Run of 70s and 80s Stars

I've been working on locating the best 9s I could in some of my favorite HOF RCs in the 70s and 80s. The 10s are crazy expensive, and this gave me another collecting angle to work on that I found pretty challenging and fun at the same time. Sometimes I would even find a couple of the same card I liked. Anyway, here's what I've found so far.
First up, 1974 Topps Dave Winfield RC. Kinda reminds me of Michael Strahan--maybe it's the gap.
Then we have George "I sh$t my pants last night" Brett. Nobody eat crab at the Bellagio. Like ever. 1975 Topps RC PSA 10 Pop of 9 in the 10, and it's surprisingly hard to find a super nice 9, but luckily Matt sold me his. Strong copy for sure.
1977 Topps Dale Murphy RC. Ok, so not a HOFer, but darn close--and a great guy to boot.
1978 Topps Molly RC and Murray RC. These are dreadfully difficult cards to find without major print issues. Centering is really tough, too. And last I checked, Hatch wasn't selling. :-(
1979 Topps Ozzie RC. As much as I love the chops, don't really feel like dropping 25K+. Gonna live with the bottom tilt on any card, so I found the best 9 I could.
1980 Topps Rickey RC. One of my favorite cards. Damn near impossible in a 10, this one took me a long time to find. Still waiting out Chuck until he sells me his. This one will do for now.
Then there's the 70s and 80s football. My favorite card from the 70s is the 1976 Topps Payton RC. I find many of the 10s don't have great centering, so I went with one that did. Dead nuts.
Loved watching Marino play despite not winning a Superbowl and, as much I disliked the Bronocs and Elway, he was a helluva player. 1984 Topps Marino and Elway.
Finally, while I can't stand Harbaugh, I loved the earlier 49ers of the 80s: Montana, Young, Rice. Picked up a few of those guys along the way.
The quest continues, but am having a blast along the way. Nikklos, hope you pull a Hendu 10 from your vending!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Really sweet cards!!

<< <i>Why isn't that Montana in a 10 holder? >>
I'm gonna go ahead and have to agree with Lee.
<< <i>You've definitely got the runs Dan! Lol

It kinda runs in my genes.

I am thinking the right edge might be keeping it out of a 10 holder. Those are all super sharp cards. Thanks for sharing.
1) is that the Montana you pack pulled?
2) i am retiring from collecting

Nice grab, Dan.

Faint spot in bottom right edge.

No, this is a different Montana. This one is much nicer. That one I'm keeping for sentimental value. I usually don't pull anything in rips, so that one is a good reminder that once in a while you get lucky.
So funny- I used to have that Winfield. I sold it just after the natty. More proof that we have the same taste in cards!!

To be honest, every single one of those cards looks like a 10 to me.

I see it now. I hate those light oil spots or whatever they are. Can't tell you how many 10s they've cost me over the years.

Agree with you on Harbaugh, and here is an interesting statistic about him: out of the 43% of Americans who have a strong dislike for NFL Football, 38% really just have a strong dislike for Harbaugh.
I was able to conduct this statistic by simply replacing "animals" for "NFL Football" and "cats" with "Harbaugh"
Harbaugh even sounds like Hairball.
