Michael Jordan & Derek Jeter Auto Card Poppage (WITH PICS)...some nice 10s and pop 1s!

CC renewal postage. I used a high res scanner and jeweler's loupe to confirm these were likely all 10s...but I swung a missed a bit on 3 of 15. Overall, I am excited. many pop 1s. Will post scans once they get to me.

    All of the multi-auto versions are sexy. The jeter sp auto jersey card is gorgeous. Tracking says they arrive on monday, can't wait!

    If you don't mind me asking, where'd you get these? Pull them yourself, card shows, or eBay? I find a lot of the modern stuff I look at on eBay has slight damage and there oddly seems to be less emphasis on condition because everything is in the NM-MT-Mint range and people grade less. I care though, so it's tough!

    I am picky. First, I am a centering addict. Since I am a modern kind of person, centering is "generally" not a problem. But when I search for high end modern auto cards, if not centered, I discount immediately and avoid since I can find substitutes easily elsewhere. Second, I generally do not buy off of ebay (actual raw cards). I will buy "yet to be redeemed" redemption cards, knowing once I get the card, I am the only person who has touched it outside the player and the card company. This increases the likely hood the card shall not suffer from poor corners, chipping edges, and surface flaws. However, there are no guarantees. Third, I only buy redemptions in series on card stock likely to avoid the before mentioned flaws. For example, most UD Exquisite cards (all sports) have significant edge chipping and corner dings. However, their "black" series from 2011, 2012, and 2013 is generally made on very nice card stock, so these flaws are less likely to be found. So I stick to the black series to expect higher grades. And I also like the "eye appeal" of the black cards and silver auto ink. Fourth, for other cards, like the Jeter autos in this example sub, I got those from private sales. When I do a private sale, I always bring a jewelers loupe with me. I find with my loupe, I can confirm a card shall be at least PSA 9 quality. If the card passes my loupe test, I normally buy and reinspect with a ultra high res scanner, looking for flaws my loupe cannot find. Once I am happy that the card has met the criteria for a 10, I set it aside waiting for the right time to submit. For modern submissions (keep that in context here; not vintage), I only submit cards that in my opinion are 10s. This helps with expectation management and avoids my disapointmet. Finally, I generally submit with min grades of 9+. This enables me to avoid having to crack out a card, of which I have cut myself doing in the past and I also damaged a card one time doing this. Sorry for the long answer, but this is my way here.

    My sub comes in the mail today. However, work is keeping me from home. Sigh, I will probably find the dreaded usps pink slip in my mailbox. : ( Means I need to find time to pick them up.

    I am in the military and got sent away this week (pilot). I missed the cards coming to my door. My wife was kind enough to take some initial pics for me. I know the pics are not perfect (some glare and position issues), but I think they show the flips off well enough. I will retake the photos later this week.

    I was disappointed in the Mays and Dual Jeter/Clemens auto cards receiving 9 grades. Those two looked much like 10s (says my scanner and loupe). Not that I am complaining outright, but just scratching my head on what I missed during my picky per-submission inspection.
