Got a freebie True View (1822 B-2 quarter)

rheddenrhedden Posts: 6,632 ✭✭✭✭✭
Submitted my VG 1822 B-2 quarter, which has been sitting raw in an album literally since before I was born. It's sufficiently rare, even in VG, that PCGS snapped a TrueView for use in Coinfacts. I just discovered there was a picture of the 1822 when I added it to My Inventory. Good deal, since they bagged the one other coin I had in the submission that I asked to be True Viewed, to my surprise and horror.

WOW - really rare and really nice looking. The majority of them are in good or worse or they have been cleaned. Its great to see a nice wholesome B-2 coin.

thank you very much for sharing!

What Easton said. About 45 known of this rare variety IMO. And this is far better than most!

    Congratulations!

Freebie TrueViews are the best. 4 of the last 5 PCGS coins I've bought have come with TVs, 3 of those look to have been free, with no TV background.

  • Glad everyone likes the freebies floating around out there. It's all part of creating a larger database for PCGS CoinFacts, and our internal records.

Wish there was an option to cancel the TV if the coin bodybags... I don't want to waste $10 on a coin that's just going to wind up with a different cert #. >>

If a coin gets bodybagged then the charge for TV is automatically cancelled, same situation with crossover coins that don't cross.
