Kershaw's ERA streak

I know the folks here on this forum are pretty sharp, so I am asking for clarification on something that puzzles me. From ESPN: "Featuring sharp breaking balls, Kershaw was the first pitcher to top the majors in ERA for four straight years". However, didn't Lefty Grove accomplish this feat back in 1929 thru 1932? What am I missing?

ESPN is often wrong, but never in doubt.

Grove led the AL in ERA in 1932, but finished 5th in the majors as 4 NL pitchers had lower ERA's.

Grove led the AL 4 years straight, but all of MLB only 3 years straight.
