Is it to early to talk NYINC?

Well I'll do it anyway, I just got my ticket to the big city, arriving on the Wednesday and departing Sunday, staying at the Waldorf (one would wouldn't one?). Is anyone else making plans yet? I also have to find a way for my wife to entertain herself Friday and Saturday while I browse the floor since she decided to go also , that probably won't be cheap.

Any ideas for breakfast or dinner get togethers?

The 3 Amigos from CT will be there on Friday. Taking the train in and out (non-peak). We usually have dinner at Junior's in Grand Central and watch the people (characters) go by. We probably could change it up this year.

Don't hold back your excitement! I love the big apple. It can be such a fabulous place.
No matter how many times I go, I still want to return again.

And as you can tell from the photo, the weather always is so delightful.
I plan to be there on Friday and very possibly on one of the weekend days.

  • I intend to be there walking the floor looking for Canadian, Irish and pre WWII Japanese to add to my collection. As a novice I am always seeking to learn from the experts. I will be taking the bus in as I live across the Hudson. Enjoy your time in the Big Apple. For those who are bringing spouses dis interested in coin collecting, I would strongly recommend the museums particularly the Frick. John

I'll be there for the duration, for the pre-show auctions and the entire show.

I'm especially excited about bringing my two new pups to the pre-show activities. It will be their first numismatic event! (The Waldorf is dog-friendly.)

And Happy Hours at my table are always fun...

I haven't made formal plans yet, but expect to be there Wednesday with my 4-legged shadow. I will probably stay at the hotel across Lex from the Waldorf (much cheaper). I'll probably checkout Saturday morning.

Andy - happy hour sounds nice! I must remember to bring a bottle to the show.

Better watch out. The Waldorf was just bought by the Chinese.... image

Doesn't seem hard to accomplish. My only issue is remembering. (Applies to the wine too.) I'll put that on my to-do list.

Its never too early to discuss this show. I would like to go-not sure if I am going to make it.

  • I went to my one and only NYINC about 30 years ago, pretty sure I still have the name tag. Still remember very clearly as I went thru the door and looked at a sea of seemingly never ending tables. I am still a rookie but I was really an amateur then.

Talk about sensory overload! Tables full of ancient gold, silver and copper and it was packed with people. I would have been completely overwhelmed except I had come with a plan to buy an English Groat. Plenty to choose from too.

After I found my groat I wandered all over and bought some more cheap stuff. Unbelievable show.
