Question..... Should I reholder all higher dollar cards into new PSA holders? >>

Not sure if this helps with resale values or not. Should I reholder or just keep in the older PSA holders? I just want to avoid sending PSA my cards and have cards being damaged while be transferred into the new holders by the staff at PSA, anyone else afraid of this?

Thanks

  • I don't think it matters for resale and may hurt as there is a slight premium on some old, old flips pre-half grade. Not worth the time, money, or stress unless you have a specific reason like a damaged holder.

Unless the case is in real bad shape I would just keep it in the original holder. Not sure the new holder would add enough value to risk damage on the high end cards. On the other hand the card will still be the same grade damaged or not when they reholder it.
  • That is what I am worried about is sending a bunch of cards to PSA to have them damaged during transit or while at PSA. Have around 40 older holders that I would like to get reholdered, probably around $200-300 a card on the average. The new cases are nice but not sure if worth the stress of having them sent through the mail and then have to wait 90+++ days to get them back home!

send in the ones that seem high for the grade in for review...if they get bumped, you get a new holder and a higher grade. don't see how paying to get cards in the new holder adds any value otherwise....
  • if you want to get them re-holdered, i would bring them to the show next year

I prefer the old holders. I don't even like the new ones.
