Pretty nice 80 pack, 7 centered cards out of 12 is not to shabby. 1 of those had a edge ding (a Brown no less, not Clay though!)

Best six cards shown below, including a sweet Largent!

    Next up, the '81 rack...
  • DanBessetteDanBessette Posts: 6,421 ✭✭✭
You're right. That IS a sweet Largent!

Actually, you two wizeazzes, it was from Jesus' first game playing quarterback. I sat right on the dirt. It was a wonderful day ... I brought 1 can of Fosters with me and HE turned it into a case! What a bargain ...

1981 rack was mediocre at best, did get a fairly nice Rookie Clark and a smokin' Lester Hayes. But only less than a hand full of other centered cards.

    Best six shown below....

    Next up the 1984 pack...

Sorry but I have to correct you. Jesus was a hockey player.

Awesome ripping and I'm looking forward to the rest!

Typical 84 pack, a few well centered cards, the best being a Greg Pruitt as a Raider image

    Best six shown below...

    image

    Next up the 1976 pack!
  • ssollarsssollars Posts: 933 ✭✭✭✭
The 1976 was a little disappointing, only one centered card but a few other mostly centered cards, no start power image

    Best six shown below....

    Next up the 1968 pack!!!!!!!

Jesus at QB? I knew it was a matter of time until the Tebow reference.

No, no, no...Jesus was a shortstop from the Dominican Republic, not a QB..

The 1968 was almost a complete bust.

First, as someone pointed out when I post the picture in my National pickup thread, it was a 2nd series. I would have been OK with that...

But, it only had 4 cards plus a stand up insert! Does anyone know if that is normal? 4 cards???

Sadly, two of those 4 cards were miscut image

Luckily, the other two were pretty nice, especially the a gradable Bill Nelsen! Maybe I'll get an upgrade for my Browns set.

    Here are the cards...

    Thanks for watching guys.

    Until Christmas...

Nelsen look sharp! Williams looks good, too!

I know that there were certain Topps packs packaged with 4 cards for the Canadian market. Maybe this pack was sold in Canada?

I don't collect football, so I'm not sure, but if Toppsa did this for baseball, I'm sure they did for football, too.

That was a scrumptious rip. '80 is as wicked as they come, yet that is one delectable Largent you yanked. Was hoping you'd unearth the first gemmy Wilbert Montgomery so I could send you to the Caymans for about a month.

Oh, and if you guys don't stop giving Doug the biz, y'all are going to convince my impressionable mind that he's a modern-day Methuselah. Watch, one of these days we're all going to punt the bucket and he's going to be left holding our cards.......while snortling incessantly.

you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet

Scott, Tippett only converted to Judaism in 1999, 5 years after his football career ended. Just saying. Tanner Glass being mentioned caught my eye. He played his college hockey at Dartmouth. We live about 15 mins away and go to a lot of their games. My oldest son is named Tanner, so Glass was a favorite of ours.
