Well, I think I was high bidder on this tonight. With Heritage's different formats, it's hard for this old man to tell sometime, LOL. It says I'm high bidder and internet extended bidding on the lot is over, so I believe that means I took care of business
Beautiful 8x10 of the legendary Bambino signed with racial overtones (I'm Mexican/American myself and not offended so sorry if anyone else is)
I think I'll celebrate by going to New York this weekend and partying
My first Ruth signed photo. Comes with full PSA/DNA LOA and auction JSA LOA.

Curious, what does the inscription say? I can't make out the word after "Mexican"

<< <i>Congratulations! Is this the first Ruth signed item in your collection (I noticed you said photo)? With your collection it's hard for me to believe that this is a first for you!

Thanks Patrick,
About 15 years ago I had a Ruth signed check and a couple years back I had a Ruth cut, but I bought those to sell and moved those out already.
I bought this one for my own collection. After "Mexican" it says "Beans".

Doesn't look like that to me. Looks like Brau or something. Second letter is exactly like the r in another word.
Thanks,

Look at the e in babe (also in friends, Joe, and Mexican), and look at the second letter in what you say is Brau. Ruth made his e that way, and it sometimes looks like an r.
Now if you wanna say that it reads "Good Mexican Beau's" - that's different.
so, was he complimenting their cooking skills? or did he forget to finish his thought with regards to the quality of preparation as in "Good Mexican Bean Is......"
or maybe, JUST MAYBE, he was using perfect grammatical skills (ya right?) in his gifting of Good Mexican Bean's to THEM.
his friends'.

<< <i>Do we know anything about Terry and Joe? Did they sell food (maybe even at the stadium Ruth played)? Would be cool to figure out the history behind this piece. >>
Maybe you can call them and alert them to this thread.
<< <i>Are we sure it's 'beans' and not beads? ;-) >>
Steve, Im gettin too old for that LOL. (on 2nd thought, I ain't dead yet )
I've always wanted his sig - now can't afford it.
Interesting about the inscription - I inferred that he ate over their place and he like the food. They may have had a Mexican restaurant or something?
Buy of the year here for me.
How did you guys enjoy NYC? Hopefully next time you get to New York I can meet you guys.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
