For sale a very nice original, well detailed 1652 Pine Tree shilling, small planchet graded VF20 by NGC (Variety Noe-16, Crosby 21-L, W-835, Salmon 2-B, Rarity-2). It weighs 66.1 grains. It is the late die state with the bird's nest die break in the tree branches clearly visible.

These colonial Massachusetts silver coins are notorious for off-centered and weak strikes, but not this one. Centering is almost perfect and all of the legends are complete and easily readable on both the obverse and reverse.
